Company Insight: History and Establishment

Established in 2019, Akira Management swiftly positioned itself as the leading consultancy in Malaysia for study abroad programs, specializing in a comprehensive array of services designed to facilitate educational and professional experiences in Japan.

Our portfolio includes student exchange programs, overseas study opportunities, JLPT preparation in Malaysia, work placement services in Japan, assistance with Japanese work visas, working holiday programs, and scholarship opportunities specifically tailored for Malaysians pursuing education in Japan.

Akira Management

In response to the dynamic shifts in educational needs and market demands, Akira Management undertook a strategic transformation, rebranding as the International Institute of Future Life, commonly referred to as In Future Skills in 2024. This rebranding facilitated a notable expansion in our areas of specialization, with a particular emphasis on developing skill-based programs grounded in experiential learning, tailored to the hospitality sector.

Under the hospitality umbrella, we introduced three core programs: Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, and Tourism. These initiatives reflect our commitment to providing industry-aligned education that prepares students for real-world challenges and opportunities.

These programs have been developed in response to the initiative set forth by the Ministry of Higher Education, which aims to provide gap year opportunities to SPM leavers and undergraduate students. In Future Skills has proactively addressed this directive by delivering programs that cater not only to students in Malaysia but also to those seeking educational and professional opportunities abroad, especially in Korea and Japan.

We are proud to be at the forefront of introducing work-based programs in Japan, underscoring our dedication to enhancing educational and professional opportunities for our students on a global scale. In Future Skills remains committed to leading the development of impactful, skill-based educational programs that effectively bridge the gap between academic learning and the global workforce’s demands.

International Institute of Future Life Skill
Welcome to the International Institute of Future Skill (In Future Skills Institute)

Tom San, a visionary educator from Malaysia, is redefining the landscape of vocational training. Through his institute, he empowers youth with skills and opportunities, proving that dreams can become reality.

Tee Kok Soon, affectionately known as Tom San. Growing up, he was not different from many young boys, filled with dreams yet uncertain about the path ahead. Tom embarked on a diverse career journey that began in the hospitality industry. At just 22, he honed his skills in customer service as a butler at Genting Highlands and Langkawi, where he cultivated values of discipline and professionalism. It was during these formative years that he met his future wife, Angel Ho, adding a personal milestone to his burgeoning career. Seeking broader horizons, Tom transitioned into the consumer electronics sector and later into logistics, managing export sales. Each role enriched his understanding of business and human interaction. His ambitions took a turn when, inspired by his childhood dream of becoming a police officer, he moved to Singapore. As an Auxiliary Police Officer with Certis CISCO, he gained invaluable experiences in bank security and airport operations, deepening his sense of responsibility and leadership. Yet, it was in the recruitment industry where Tom uncovered a crucial gap between education and employment, setting the stage for his future endeavors. His journey, filled with twists and turns, was a testament to resilience and the pursuit of a meaningful career path.

A pivotal moment in Tom’s life occurred during a trip to Osaka, Japan in 2015. Over ten days, he was captivated by Japan’s culture, discipline, and quality of life, and he saw an opportunity for young Malaysians to gain vital skills and language proficiency that could lead to international careers. This experience ignited a fire within him to create pathways for Malaysian youths, particularly SPM graduates, to improve their career prospects. With a renewed sense of purpose, Tom returned to Malaysia and founded AM Akira Management in Klang in 2019, marking the beginning of a new chapter focused on education and skills development. The early days of entrepreneurship were fraught with challenges, but Tom’s extensive background in recruitment provided a strong foundation. He was fortunate to receive guidance from experienced teachers like Xiao Lu and Fan Rong, who helped shape the organization’s vision. As the demand for a more industry-oriented education model grew, Tom rebranded the venture as the International Institute of Future Life Skill in 2024. This transformation reflected not just a name change, but a commitment to equipping students with practical skills and the competencies needed in a rapidly changing workforce.

Under Tom San’s leadership, the International Institute of Future Life Skill has emerged as a progressive education provider, delivering industry-driven educational models that prioritize practical training and experiential learning. The institute focuses on various programs, including Apprenticeship TVET, foreign language education, and work-study exchanges with Japan. One of its flagship offerings, the Professional Diploma in Hospitality, combines academic learning with hands-on training, enhancing students’ employability and preparing them for real-world challenges. Tom believes that multilingual abilities, especially in Japanese, give young people a competitive edge and foster cross-cultural understanding. Through collaboration with employers and industry partners, the institute has successfully guided over 400 students, many of whom have secured employment and further opportunities abroad. Tom’s commitment to empowering youth from ordinary backgrounds is evident in the personal growth he witnesses among his students. He often reflects on his journey and shares a vital lesson: perseverance is the key to realizing one’s aspirations. His mission is not merely about education; it’s about transforming lives and helping young people unlock their potential.

Tom San’s vision extends far beyond the walls of his institute. With ambitions to introduce Malaysian Skills Certification (SKM) programs for local and international students, he aims to further expand opportunities for his students. Additionally, he is keen on developing overseas working holiday initiatives that will create greater career prospects globally. His commitment to youth development is unwavering, and he continuously seeks innovative ways to enhance the educational experience. In his downtime, Tom enjoys playing basketball and badminton with his students, fostering camaraderie and encouraging a healthy lifestyle. A personal milestone he cherishes is conquering Mount Kinabalu in 2026, reflecting his belief in pushing boundaries and achieving goals. Tom San embodies the spirit of resilience, innovation, and dedication to youth empowerment. His journey stands as a beacon of hope, illustrating that with the right skills, support, and determination, young people can achieve their dreams and transform their lives.
